Until 31 May 2019 I was detached at the Bank for International Settlements as Deputy Secretary General of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors.

My initial contract for this role was extended four times. In general, I was responsible for assisting the Secretary General in overseeing the functioning of the Secretariat (38 staff in total) of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors, hosted by the Bank for International Settlements. Duties included tasks related to the heading and management of the Association's Secretariat, to the setting of standards for insurance supervision (including IAIS Insurance Core Principles, standards and guidance or "ICPs", and the Common Framework for the supervision of Internationally Active Insurance Groups or "ComFrame“), and to financial stability (including developing a holistic framework for mitigating systemic risk in the insurance sector).

My role consisted in managing the Central Secretariat of the Insurance Supervisory Authority (subsequently merged into ACPR) for the Secretary-General, which involved dealing with difficult cases likely to lead to sanctions, following-up of these cases, making general studies, attending meetings with Ministry experts and with the European Union Council and Commission as a French expert in the drafting of the directives, participating in international activities...In this position I had to coordinate with all the teams and departments of the French Insurance Supervisory Authority and to represent it in meetings.

AG2R is a French group including joint-stock insurance companies, a provident institution, a pay-as-you-go retirement body and mutual companies. My position involved managing about 50 people in several departments : pay-as-you-go retirement technical department, insurance department, technical department for providence tariff-setting, pay-as-you-go retirement and providence management department, and international cooperation.

This was an intermediate position between the Minister and the Treasury Department of the Ministry of Finance. My role consisted in advising the Minister on any decision to be made on insurance in general, including draft regulation or legislation prepared by the Treasury, coordinating with the Insurance Supervisory Authority, preparing speeches or interviews for the Minister, consulting with the industry, participating in interministerial meetings.

As an insurance supervisor I was in charge of checking that the insurance companies under my supervision complied with insurance law, were solvent and would remain so.
