SYCOMORE ASSET MANAGEMENT
De Juin 2015 à Mai 2025
I joined Sycomore Asset Management in 2015 to build and implement the company's green investment strategy. This led to our Natural Capital Strategy, to multiple partnerships and awards, to a full range of 6 green funds and mandates, representing €1bn of assets under manangement, and to a science-based methodological approach for corporate and financial players: the NEC for Net Environmental Contribution.
Launched in 2015, the public equity fund, Sycomore Europe Eco Solutions, has been the first to get the Greenfin certification in 2016. The NEC methodology that has been initially developed for Sycomore Europe Eco Solutions provides an impact-based measure of the alignment of business models to the environmental transition. In 2017, the metric has been progressively improved, tested and extented to all types of activities and asset classes, leading to an advanced methodology wholly integrating biodiversity, climate and resources. In 2018, it has been tested and deployed over our portfolios and benchmarks. In 2019, the NEC metric became fully transparent and open-source via the NEC initiative, a collaborative platform gathering financial actors and environmental experts.
In 2020, Sycomore AM became a BCorp certified, mission-driven company and the use of the NEC, as an investment criteria, was decisive to win the competitive tender organized by 12 European Institutional Investors for the management of a listed equity fund aligned with the Paris Agreement on Climate. In 2021, the NEC Initiative became a mission-driven company with equity brought by 4 shareholders to develop and disseminate the NEC metric as a science-based, transparent, international standard. In 2022 and 2023, the NEC 1.0 has been updated and improved to enable the deployement of the NEC 1.1 from 2024 on.
In 2024, my role evolved to strategy and marketing, as Senior Advisor to the CEO.
