Alexandre Cooper-Roy (X05) is now taking the reins to lead the network in Toronto, Canada. His mission will be to foster the local community, welcome Polytechnique students on internships in the region, and serve as the primary contact during official visits by Polytechnique delegations.

Alexandre is originally from Quebec, where he completed his studies at Polytechnique Montréal before joining L'X as an international student. He then earned a master's degree from the University of Tokyo, a PhD from MIT, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Caltech. Alexandre is currently a research professor at the University of Waterloo, where he directs a research program in experimental quantum physics. He is also the founder and CEO of UpScale Quantum Solutions Inc., a startup developing quantum networking technologies for the defense and telecommunications sectors.
Alexandre replaces Lucas Caliri (X2001), who, after four years at the AX ambassadorship in Toronto, where he hosted numerous interns, including bachelor's students, wished to pass the torch. We thank Lucas for paving the way and welcome Alexandre to the AX ambassador network.
