AX Board of Directors: roles, responsibilities and elections

Composition of the AX Board of Directors

The AX Board of Directors is the Association’s governing body. It is made up of 25 members: 

• 24 members elected for four years by the General Meeting and chosen from among the full members and trainee members, with a maximum of four members chosen from among the trainee members; 
• one ex officio member: the President of the X Foundation.

The President of École Polytechnique is a permanent guest, pending approval by the French Council of State of the amendment to the Articles of Association making him an ex officio member.

Board meetings

The Board of Directors meets at least five times a year convened by its Chair or at the request of a quarter of its members.

Each year, at the first meeting following the Annual General Meeting, the Board chooses from among its members an Executive Committee comprising a Chair, three Vice Chairs, a General Secretary and a Treasurer for a one-year term of office. Under the leadership of the Chair and in line with the broad guidelines laid down by the Board, the Executive Committee proposes and steers the action plans that the Executive Management Team implements.

 
Submitting proposals to the Board

Do you have ideas, projects or changes you would like to see implemented? Contact the General Secretary to submit your proposal to the Board (before 1 March each year) and take part in the General Meeting in June.

It is essential that the views and actions of the Board are based on the legitimacy of a large and involved community.

Members of the Association

Any École Polytechnique student may be an Association member (trainee).

Alumni, graduate and trainee members are entitled to vote at the General Meeting.

The last General Meeting, held on 19 June 2023 in person at the Maison des Polytechniciens and online by videoconference, approved the 2022 annual report (activity report, financial report and auditor’s report).
