AX is strengthening its network of ambassadors internationally to provide better support to interns and to enhance the visibility of L’X in new regions. This initiative is part of a commitment to assist students and strengthen connections with local alumni.

Three new appointments have been made to the network:

• In Istanbul (Turkey): Zeki Bülent Yağlı (X68)

• In Sofia (Bulgaria): Irina Tzotchev (M10)

• In Phnom Penh (Cambodia): Angkeara Svay (X09)

Irina Tzotchev

Graduating in science and technology with a specialization in financial mathematics from École Polytechnique in partnership with the Technical University of Sofia, Irina Tzotchev began her career in 2010 in the trading room at Société Générale CIB in Paris. She then shifted her focus to risk and insurance, continuing her journey at BNP Paribas in France and internationally, particularly in Bulgaria, her home country. Passionate about actuarial science, a field in which she seeks to excel and considers a true vocation, Irina joined the Banque de France in 2021. She works within the insurance supervision department while simultaneously conducting research on models applied to the financial sector. Dividing her life between France and Bulgaria, she balances her professional career with a passion for actuarial science and an openness to an international network.

After completing his X-Ponts Civil program, Angkeara Svay joined EDF as a research engineer. In 2016, after obtaining his PhD in civil engineering and stochastic mechanics modeling, he joined the company Terrasol as part of the Grand Paris project. Two years later, he joined the Eiffage Group to lead international projects. By the end of 2020, he decided to settle in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where he currently holds the position of Technical Director at LBL International, a Franco-Cambodian company in the construction sector. In 2023, Angkeara co-founded Wise, a consulting firm specializing in architecture and engineering, and in 2025, he co-founded Degrand AC & Engineering, a control office for certifying the calculations and designs of construction projects in Cambodia.

A relay in the Netherlands: a successful transition

In the Netherlands, this change in the network also marks a passing of the torch. Michel Bertrandias (X81), based in La Haye, served as AX ambassador for five years. During this period, he welcomed 3A and 4A interns visiting the Netherlands each year. We warmly thank him for his commitment.

On 1 September 2025, he will pass the baton to Corentin Gottrand (X10), Group Strategy Director for Air France-KLM in Amsterdam.

Corentin Gottrand arrived in Amsterdam in the summer of 2019 as part of an internal transfer within the Air France-KLM group. Since 2023, he has held the position of Director of Strategy and M&A at Air France-KLM, dividing his professional activities between Amsterdam and Paris. This position allows him to experience the European roots of the Netherlands on a daily basis, both geographically and culturally and economically, within a resolutely international organisation.

Having been involved for several years in the mentoring program organised by the AX for X students, his move to the Netherlands had not yet allowed him to become actively involved in the international alumni network. He is now seizing this opportunity to strengthen ties between our fellow students in the Netherlands and ensure a warm welcome for those who are doing internships there.

Together with Michel Georgin (X66), who leads the AX international network, we would like to welcome the new ambassadors.
