AX international network: appointment of correspondents in Athens and Thessaloniki
The AX international network is expanding with the appointment of Maria-Ioanna Kairi (M2010) and Georgios Michailidis (D2014).
Maria-Ioanna Kairi will become the network's correspondent in Athens, where, at the end of December 2024, the Institut Polytechnique de Paris and the NTUA (National Technical University of Athens) signed an agreement to create a joint master's degree in ‘Data Science and Machine Learning’.
A graduate of the NTUA School of Chemical Engineering, Maria-Ioanna obtained a master's degree in economics of sustainable development, energy and the environment at the École Polytechnique, in collaboration with IFP and INSTN. From 2010 to 2012, she worked for EDF Energies Nouvelles in the photovoltaic research department, where she was responsible for projects in the Landes region, as well as in Italy, Germany, Israel and Bulgaria. In June 2012, she returned to her native country and joined the leading Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company as a production planner. Since September 2022, she has held the position of SC Infrastructure Optimization Manager, where she manages long-term investment projects for the Group.
Maria-Ioanna maintains a link with France through her two daughters, who attend a Franco-Hellenic school.
Georgios Michailidis became a correspondent in Thessaloniki in order to strengthen relations with the Anatolia College high school of excellence, and to support students aiming to study at X, particularly in the Bachelor's programme, or to do an internship in collaboration with X laboratories.
In 2014, Georgios completed his PhD at École Polytechnique, in collaboration with Renault. His work focused on applied mathematics. From 2014 to 2017, he worked in academia (École polytechnique, Grenoble INP) and followed an acceleration programme for start-up projects within the École polytechnique incubator (X-UP). Since 2017, he has been working for ANSYS Inc, the world's leading publisher of mechanical simulation software. Georgios returned to Greece in 2019.
